      Teachers are life-long learners as they need to replenish their own depleting intellectual, physical, emotional and spiritual energies through reading, experimenting, thereby developing new insights and understanding about learning.

      A teacher is primarily a life-long learner. People who choose teaching as their profession are automatically assumed to have made a strong commitment to their own learning for life. They can develop a deep understanding of themselves as ever evolving human beings and also their learners. This will lead to reinvent themselves as individuals.

      It is a lifelong process. A teacher’s journey of education continues long after acquiring University degree in a subject(s) of their choice and teaching qualification.

      It is self-directed. In the current rapidly changing complex VUCA (volatile, uncertain, chaotic and ambiguous) world where knowledge is obsolete every 12 hours, teachers cannot They have to keep abreast of and self-directed.

      It is relevant. Systematic study and courses help in acquiring qualifications which lead to qualitative development and also provide new employment opportunities.

      It is based on classroom practice. Teachers can develop new ways of teaching and learning and build creative pedagogies through their practice.

      It is research based. Classroom research is central to every teacher’s reflective professional development. Reading current research about learning and the impact of technological advancements on education becomes necessary back bone to such teacher development.
